The pool and the pool deck is a great feature of this hotel. There is still a distinct smoke smell masked by a strong deodorizer but this is no different than most other casinos. The casino is significantly brighter and more spacious than prior to the renovations. There is a nice flat screen tv with plenty of channels including an updated arrivals/departures screen for LAS, this was a nice touch for those using the airport to get to/from Vegas. The shower fixtures and the bathroom door have not been upgraded. The shower/tub combo is large with good water pressure. The beds are very comfortable as is usually the case with a Doubletree Hotel.

I knew this before arriving so I was prepared but any or all of these features would be a plus. There is no refrigerator, microwave, or coffee maker. The room was extremely clean, bright, and nicely decorated. Our room faced the Strip and the view was spectacular. We stayed in the Club Tower which is set back off the Strip, closer to Tropicana Avenue. The new Tropicana Las Vegas has been renovated in recent years and what a difference! There are still some signs of the old Trop but for the most part it is a whole new feel.

I walked through the old Trop about 10 years ago and I was unimpressed but things have certainly changed.
